Default arg. im at a blank.

so basically i hate my job. i hate my boss. he doesnt appreciate the work or performance that i provide for my store and all the extra effort that i give him. i got my once a year raise the other day of...drum roll......16CENTS! while other less efficient and less qualified workers are receiving 25 and up. so yeah bla bla bla. i got in a huge argument with him and i decided im looking for a new job after being at this shitty store for 2 years.

so yeah my question is on the job application that im filling out (like all the others will to) it ask why im leaving my current work. i dont know what to put. i dont want to put because i hate my boss and i dont feel as though im receiving the respect that i deserve from him or the company because i dont want the potential employers to think im just some dumb punk that feels im super special or anything. i dont know. what should i put? i always put i wasnt receiving enough hours when i left my old job (which was true) and learned through the many interview processes that thats what everyone and their grandma puts. i dont know.

arg i lost my train of thought. but yeah you probably get the idea. what should i put for my reason for leaving that doesnt seem to negative. i will also need to know this for any potential interviews.

I would say something like: Current position has become stagnant and no long provides challenges, and limited opportunity for growth.

Last part sounds crappy, but something about wanting to grow would be good. Basically you should try to convey a message about how your current job is too easy and you would rather be in a place where the work is more difficult... and you are also thinking about long term opportunities.

Edit: In an interview I would be very hesitant about mentioning what you've mentioned in your post. It sounds too whiney and to negative. Your answer to this should be dependant upon the place you are seeking employment... basically repeat what I wrote above and elaborate on how you think the interviewing company/position is a better fit for you. EX: I'm aware that your company has ______ thus I believe your company would offer a more professional, team orientated, environment that will allow me to utilize and improve my _____ skills.

just keep in mind that your application and resume needs to sell you to which ever employer your applying to, don't be afraid to change resume to suit the job

yeah, you want to work for a company that has opportunities to advance within the company.

if they ask about it, say something about being loyal to one company, but you don't want to just be a "last job title" for the rest of your life.

I would say "left current or last job for to explore other opportunities."
