Full size "luxury" trucks with a ton of options tend to have some of the worse payloads. I was surprised to see a couple of the ram trucks with payloads less than my ranger, granted the ram would haul the weight better all around.

Is it the toughest, meanest looking truck ? Off road capable? No. But it does exactly what I need.

Cool, but I like to do all that without swamp ass.
AC seats for life nickel!!

Interesting read in my local paper today. I know we've all seen trucks escalate into the $50,000+ range, but I never realized what a large segment of truck buyers are willing to spend that much.
Ford says their top of the line 2016 F150 Limited will exceed $60k! Ford said that about 30% of their truck sales exceed $50k. Dodge was like 30% and GM was 50% !
Personally, I want a truck where I can load up, tie down and go, without having to worry about a scratch on the bed or on the bed rails here and there.
I saw a guy at Home Depot loading up a little bit of lumber, wrapping blankets all around it to protect his diamond of a truck and I just had to laugh .
A truck should be a truck. Luxury features are for luxury cars.
My 2 cents.

I agree.

Well, sonny, I posted my opinion about how spending $60k is outrageous for an F150 of all things. It's an F-150! I didn't say anything disparaging about the people who choose to do so. You're obviously from the "it's a crime to hurt my feelings" generation.
My opinion is that it's wasteful to spend that much on a truck and then have to be so careful with it so it doesn't take a scratch.
It has nothing to do with maintaining a vehicle. I appreciate people that take care of vehicles. I have two other vehicles, besides my Ranger, that were purchased new.
My point is, at which point does a truck become so expensive that it can hardly be freely used as a truck ?
My truck is not a POS, as some have inferred. There's a wide gap between a POS and a truck that gets used. Mine looks pretty darn good for a 20 year old truck.
My "intelligence " comment was directed at those who chose to poke fun and assume that I'm some po' folk cuz I choose an old ride.

I was pointing out flaws in your so called 'logic', you looking like a moron doesn't offend me in the slightest.
Did you think that the high end f150s are aimed at the people who use to have, lets say, high end fusion along with some clapped out ranger to consolidate into having just 1 vehicle? A nice daily that they can now also do harry homeowner stuff on the weekends.
As I said before, cant afford it dont buy it. Ford isnt forcing you to buy anything. More importantly, just because YOU cant afford a nice vehicle, doesn't mean EVERYONE cant.

Majority of those trucks that are selling above 50k are 3/4 ton and above anyway. Not many people pay over 50k for a 1/2 ton. If you did that their fault for not negotiating better or they don't care about the price.

ford is supposively bringing out a new, even higher end package that will sell for around 60 for a 1/2 ton.
There was a pretty interesting article in automotive news about the high end f150 sales. 50% of new f150 truck orders are 50K+ range.

You're the only one who doesn't seem to get jokes! I couldn't care less what you drive, or your opinion on other vehicles.
You came on here, looking for others who share the same viewpoint (a dumb one), and get called out on it. You seem to be the one who has hurt feelings

Oh yes, more head room would be nice so my in-car butler could maneuver better to pour my drinks.
