So speaking of bad advice, and stupid people. I had this asian guy get pissed off at me because I refused to balance and rotate the tires on his ALL WHEEL DRIVE Lexus that had cords sticking out of the front tires, and half worn out tires in the rear. I said you need 4 new tires and an alignment. He starts yelling that he's a mechanic and I don't know what I'm talking about. And that I could balance those tires and they would last another 2 years.

I gave up and just pointed to the ASE Master Tech badge on my sleeve and went "You see this? It means I know what I'm talking about."

Had to be worse than the dude that said autozone told him his O2 sensors were bad, but after I diagnosed the car, he got pissed when I told him it was the purge valve. Apparently running rich on both banks means you have bad O2 sensors. MORE LIKE THEY ARE DOING THEIR FUCKING JOB!!!!

Brent, you need to get a less stressful job! Sounds like you deal with a lot of bullshit day to day but you gotta do what you gotta do.

That and I'm paid GOOD. If I went somewhere else, I'd have to start fresh and wouldn't be top of the foodchain.

Question for you. You're a mechanic right? I'm looking at an 03 f150, 4.6L manual trans. 146,000 k (kms) which is low. But it's a rebuild. Thoughts?

Or would I be better off with a 5L auto? I love driving manual but my 3.0 ranger can't pull a decent boat, and it's slow as hell.

Just found the ad tonight. Sent an email regarding that but no answer yet. I'm guessing wrecked, then rebuilt, because it's a "well maintained rebuilt truck"

I'd avoid it. Buying a rebuilt car is asking for trouble. Hell, my truck wasn't wrecked and I still had major issues to address.

Yeah. I think it depends on what it is though. Rear end collision or something, hail, I'd be fine with. Truck looks to have zero rust. And it's priced very well.
