I'm working on some things now. My truck isn't a dd anymore. Getting a cowl hood. I like to be low. Painting the front bumper all black eventually, swapping out the column shifter to a floor shifter too much play in a column shifter. Gonna powdercoat the spoiler cause it all goes along with the theme. And it might have been an older mustang cause I know it definitely had the 5.0 I don't know mustangs years.
But my truck has always had something going on with it...lol

Umm the chevy 350 has been around a bit longer than the ford 302 not to mention the camaro has always been biggrr than the mustang so a bigger engine kind of helped. If you are trying to compare 5.0s the chevy 305 was crap compared to the 302 however on a budget a 350 is cheap and easy to build up. That pushrod 302 however is a little more work they don't normally start pushing very much power till you add a power adder to them...unlike the new chevy 6.0, 6.2 and ford 4.6, 5.0 neither company is perferct it just so happens the mustang gt is better than the camaro ss and the ranger is better than the colorado.

In my opinion the ranger isn't better then the rado and the rado isn't better then the ranger. It's all preference. Being a mechanic I have had my share of everything breaking down. Both the ford ranger and Colorado are inexpensive and low maintenance, insurance is cheap and gas mileage are average. Our motors make the same power. The Tacoma is the same as our rangers, and colorados. Is anything the Nissan has a 1up on us cause they have the nismo edition, for those who aren't sure it's the 350z motor. Us Colorados have the v8 now but there too over priced where the in the price range of a full size.

I got my truck brand new, 08' reg cab, z85 meaning it's not the sports truck suspension. With the I5, 373's, dark interior and I walked out paying 17500 out the door. It's all about what works for YOU. But in the end we a all midsize truck lovers

Honestly if you want to throw the nissan in the hando ridgeline makes the same hp out of there nice little v6...

All of the group other than the old dakotas are rated to tow at most 6000lbs regardless of engine or rear end choice...positives for ford are a 31 spline zexel ls while chevy is sitting on the garbage gm 10 bolt which is a terrible rear end capable of max around 400hp and 35s push it to the limit while the 8.8 in a ranger is able to take alot more abuse 600-800hp and 37-42" tires...little things like that are why I chose a ranger.

But how many 400hp mini trucks do you see period, not adding tv, you heard this or this guy in Maine......in Cali that I have met we have no Colorado that's over 400hp.

But just from reference. Had a Colorado that ran an 11.14 on the stock rear end. In Texas. On our Colorado site I'd say there are less then 15 v8's and just about 2 are making over 500.

On trs there are more than 15 rangers with v8 swaps and several making over 500hp...

Also rangers have been around alot longer here is an 80s with a 5.0 swap

http://www.dragtimes.com/Ford-Ranger-Timeslip-6028.html

Here is a 302 and later 351 swap

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/261082...ab-perry-fl-us

As for in person I have seen a couple dozen mostly older 80s s10s with sbc in them

well, according to consumer guide auto, the average curb weight of the 93-02 Camaro....3306 for a non-vert....the Mustang?...99-04 Mustang, average curb weight 3077 lbs. Thats three hundred pounds if you are hard of math.

Well its good to see you can back up what I just said the 300lb heavier camaro is well 300lbs heavier kinda making it an easy assumption that its bigger thanks I think?

Yeah, I guess it did, as well as my point. They couldn't do the same things with the same displacement, so they had to go bigger. And 300 lbs isn't that much difference when we're talking about cars...
