yeah I'm doing the best I can with the tools I have, it's not gonna be perfect it's gonna be a 10 footer, I just want to bring this thing back to life alittle so that way it stays on the road and maybe a few years down the road someone will actually go through and restore it

I think that is a shame, but it's your car. Black shows any body work flaws better than any other color by the way.

Why shouldn't I paint it black? Not like it's gonna be difficult to change it to the factory blue, I don't have the money for the factory blue, I've been thinking about doing just a plain blue but think it would look stupid, I'm going for a mild murdered out scheme, tint the windows and black out the wheels
----------
I think it will be more eye appealing to people cuz my plan is to sell it when it's done cuz I don't ever see myself restoring it, just want it presentable, and use the money on my 02 ranger hehe

We can't tell you what to do obviously.
I am simply saying that I think it is a shame to change the color. Also black is one of the most unforgiving colors for showing the underlying body work. And I think changing the color on that car will a lot harder than you are guessing. At least to do it well. A LOT of jamb in a car that size. As for cost, used to be a blue and a black would both have been very comparable. Outside of pearls, red used to be the most expensive.

Re: The old lincoln mark III
Reference my earlier posts regarding "don't muck it up" and "75% of car restoration attempts make the car worse" -- it certainly is your car and you are allowed to do with it what you choose.
However, if your hope as stated really is for somebody to one day restore the car the way it should be what you are proposing makes that less likely to happen rather than more likely to happen.
While I totally agree with someone's post that says "you have to learn somewhere" I really think this car is too unique and has too much potential to be used as someone's Guinea Pig! If you want to learn how to spray a "ghetto" paint job on a car, do it on a '99 Taurus and not a vehicle as unique as this.
Not trying to be an a-hole -- I'm just a collector who is passionate about preserving important bits of American automotive history, of which this car certainly is one!

I agree with that on the cars that I like and desire, I didn't realize these were that desirable but I don't know the classic american cat market at all

Well, there is a market for them, but it is a niche one. Kind of a unique car, with a trunk that would hold your 2002, with the lid closed. Rated at around 365hp, and it needed every bit of it as it weighed over 5000lbs.
