Its all ok as long as its American!
I have come to the conclusion that it's not worth it. I mean the Ford Vs. Chevy Vs. Dodge etc. is it really worth it? I think we should unite and hate those vehicles from Asia they can't touch American ingenuity, muscle and most off all pride!
Tell me what you think!

But stock? LOL
That's the difference between foreign and us cars now. Foreign is going for gas mileage while us is more power but more gas mileage. I honestly can't tell you the last foreign car commercial I've seen where they were bragging about power.

No chance for stock, any japanese engine with decent torque has close to no stock parts in or around it, and always a turbo or two.
And let's not forget all those after market parts "ruin" both the fuel efficiency and engine reliability that had been over inflated from honda/toyota/nissan.

Some people buy toy-project-cars just to do things that most of you can't, not to keep it "stock".
I got 28.9mpg from NY to Chicago in 70 degree weather with no boost at 70mph on 93 octane.
I get 15mpg on methanol or 17 on ethanol over a whole tank.
I don't really care about the mileage my car makes. I probably drive it once every 2 weeks for about less than 50 miles. Its just for fun, I get paid to build turbo cars every day that don't fit your mold.
Besides running alcohol, nothing I've done to my engine when I rebuilt it with 400 miles on the brand new car has hurt my mileage or reliability. The only reliability problem I've had on my car was a dead battery due to the fact my car runs on a john-deer lawnmower battery.
I would consider an American car if there was something with torque that is light weight, easy to boost and 4wd.

It's a cute sentiment but people will do what people will do provided nobody has tried to tell them to do it. Besides it's based on the same over simplified thinking.

Re: Its all ok as long as its American!
My Mazda6 has given me less problems then my Ford or Plymouth ever did. Just sayin...
As for the truck, yea it says Mazda, but we all know its a Ford. Ive only put 4k on it since Ive owned it, but my dad owned it for 120k and my uncle had it for 6 years and put 3k on it, and as far as I know, neither of them had any serious problems with it.

I'd rather have a BMW 3-Series.

Re: Its all ok as long as its American!
One of the reasons I went with ford is due to their new Acronym
Federal
Occupancy
Respectfully
Declined
The entire bailout situation just pissed me off, half the reason why I sold my 05 Grand cherokee limited and got out of "jeep" as they are owned by Chrysler....
Other than that, I've owned plenty of fords and they have never let me down soo...here I am!
