It is not, but like most fire department laws in pa, they are ignored. Im figuring out what i have to do to wire another set in the rear though. I believe LEDs are technically illegal, and cant have more than two bulbs.

----------

Im not trying to get too big with the lights, im less than a mile from the department. I just wanted them for the occasional slow driver and for when i go direct to the scene

Vol EMS or FF can run blue only, no siren, and it gives you nothing really. Youre just asking people to yield to you in PA, but they dont have to. I know in NJ you have to pull over for blue lights

I have a voltex led traffic advisor. Though it is amber it works well. I know they sell it in blue too.
Have been happy with it.

I would say keep checking your local craigslist.

I only know the next volunteer fireman who tries to run me off the road or almost does will be followed to his destination and whooped fair. Around here at least, they need to use more common sense. They are required to abide by any and all traffic, driving, and road laws while responding. The young ones especially drive like idiots. It's obvious some think they are above the law. ****y bunch.

Just keep it in mind when some blue lighter flys down the road, how would you want us to drive if it was YOUR family trapped in that burning house or car? Granted im sure 75% of the time its just idiots being idiots, but at least 25% of the time its a pretty darn serious call, where seconds matter

This exactly. I hardly ever use my lights going to calls unless shit hit the fan.

Up here it's volunteer fd so POVs run blue lights. This guy has a ford raptor. Blue in color. With a whelen light bar and strobes in heads and tails. It's pretty sweet. He's usually first on scene.

In WV we need EVOC and a red light permit and red helmets get lights and siren. Normal FF needs his red light permit.
