gasp a ranger and AND
the KDX!
man I love my 95 h1 200. Is that a 200 or 220?
Anyway you really need to check out KDXRider.Net. Its a godsend for any kdx owner. Lose them forks and swap out to a klx300 setup or you can go with just about any kx setup with a little fab and some risers.
You already have the aftermarket expansion pipe and silencer. Read up on the other forums for the best combo with reeds. To wake the bike up more theres Ron Blacks engine mods theres also a eric gorr 225 kit and then theres Jeff Fredette to make up some carb and head mods for ya.
Rebuilt mine from ground up. Wanted one for a long time they don't come up often due to the fact that they are a universal kinda bike and nimble in the tight stuff. Grenade proof compared to the cost of a four stroke. This pic is after a nice run up a mines and meadows in pa. Its got a ton of stuff I haven't put on yet. But its going to be in the next desert 100 hopefully if I can get my ranger straightened out if not I might just have to rent a u haul.
BTW I like the aftermarket rear fender gets rid of the tool bag and light. I kept my light due to riding with blind people hehehehe.
DONT LET ANYONE CON YOU OUT OF THAT KICKSTAND! No joke its like they get taken off to race and never found again on many bikes. You get hard up you might get 100 bucks for it rofl.
You did good on the year purchased. Grey frame perhaps its a 03 to 06 model especially with the black tank. Earlier models came with a purple tank and such. Parts from 95 to 06 are interchangeable. Nothing changed. EPA mandatory specs killed it off. However there was a kdx at the last supercross.
Best thing hands down is to upgrade your front forks. Night and day for me and many others stock forks crumple on you. KLX300 and KX500 are almost direct swaps. I have the klx300 ones. Check out at the end of this video and youll see what I mean. After pushing the conventional forks they fade bad like drum brakes when hot. After my swap my confidence on a lot of terrain grew I was no longer afraid of my forks.
This is the first wave at the desert 100 stumpjumpers 2014 race. If I remember correctly each wave is about 3000 riders there was three waves. In theory if I average about 30 mph I should do a decent time for the bike. Im not in it to win it otherwise Id have a 450 modded to a 500 or so. Hell I might even let them go and eat a ham sammich till the dust settles rofl.. Its more of a see if I can atleast finish where as over half never do. Endurance and a good mp3 player hahaha. Oh and ham sammiches. Ok it is the desert some water.
the dt on a 220
Oh the irony your month just got better now
