I'm not trying to brag but everything lately has seemed to work out good for me. I got my truck finally, and I was able to buy the dirt bike I've been wanting for a long time.

Here's the truck-

My bike-

Then to top all of that off my father in law got this thing for free. He's been wanting one to follow my son around on his 50. Luckily he's keeping it at my house so I can play on it too.

I mostly had to share it because I'm excited and wanted to post some pics.

gasp a ranger and AND

the KDX!

man I love my 95 h1 200. Is that a 200 or 220?

Anyway you really need to check out KDXRider.Net. Its a godsend for any kdx owner. Lose them forks and swap out to a klx300 setup or you can go with just about any kx setup with a little fab and some risers.

You already have the aftermarket expansion pipe and silencer. Read up on the other forums for the best combo with reeds. To wake the bike up more theres Ron Blacks engine mods theres also a eric gorr 225 kit and then theres Jeff Fredette to make up some carb and head mods for ya.

Rebuilt mine from ground up. Wanted one for a long time they don't come up often due to the fact that they are a universal kinda bike and nimble in the tight stuff. Grenade proof compared to the cost of a four stroke. This pic is after a nice run up a mines and meadows in pa. Its got a ton of stuff I haven't put on yet. But its going to be in the next desert 100 hopefully if I can get my ranger straightened out if not I might just have to rent a u haul.

BTW I like the aftermarket rear fender gets rid of the tool bag and light. I kept my light due to riding with blind people hehehehe.

DONT LET ANYONE CON YOU OUT OF THAT KICKSTAND! No joke its like they get taken off to race and never found again on many bikes. You get hard up you might get 100 bucks for it rofl.

You did good on the year purchased. Grey frame perhaps its a 03 to 06 model especially with the black tank. Earlier models came with a purple tank and such. Parts from 95 to 06 are interchangeable. Nothing changed. EPA mandatory specs killed it off. However there was a kdx at the last supercross.

Best thing hands down is to upgrade your front forks. Night and day for me and many others stock forks crumple on you. KLX300 and KX500 are almost direct swaps. I have the klx300 ones. Check out at the end of this video and youll see what I mean. After pushing the conventional forks they fade bad like drum brakes when hot. After my swap my confidence on a lot of terrain grew I was no longer afraid of my forks.

This is the first wave at the desert 100 stumpjumpers 2014 race. If I remember correctly each wave is about 3000 riders there was three waves. In theory if I average about 30 mph I should do a decent time for the bike. Im not in it to win it otherwise Id have a 450 modded to a 500 or so. Hell I might even let them go and eat a ham sammich till the dust settles rofl.. Its more of a see if I can atleast finish where as over half never do. Endurance and a good mp3 player hahaha. Oh and ham sammiches. Ok it is the desert some water.

the dt on a 220

Oh the irony your month just got better now

Whoa thanks. I am already on KDXRider, with the same username.

The bike is an 04 KDX220. I like the rear fender too, but I want a green one and white side panels. That will come later my first priority is getting the stock cast piston out and installing a Wiseco. I've read a lot about the front forks, I'm not a fast or aggressive rider so I don't think they will hold me back for a while.

I like these things though, good low end power but still rips pretty good when it's on the pipe.

And yes, what is the deal with people taking the headlights and kickstands off?

rofl yep just checked in on there and seen your post. Small world.

Yea if you don't know if stock piston in there change it out anyway. Ive read several post about the after effects almost all have the same damage and all could of been prevented. Then again theres this british guy who has ridden his 80000 miles or something and stock piston. I like to ride not worry.

As far as stock forks they just don't handle well. First off you need to buy the correct springs for them. I believe stock springs are for a 160 lb rider and I was 225 with gear so forks were sloppy to begin with. Correct springs and new oil help them tremendously and suggest you look up how to do them. Easy enough in an afternoon and some prep work. Stock rear spring is for 180 so spring wise the bike from factory is not set up properly. Once dialed in and feels like a caddy on the whoops however they fade away. Keep this in mind the only real thing that has changed with dirtbikes through the years is the front forks really. With the klx forks and new springs/oil I have way better handling and forks just feel beefier for my needs. Even if your not an aggressive rider in time you will be. Food for thought.

Most often the reason is for racing. Most often the spring becomes weak and stand drops down on you on some jumps so they get removed. As for the headlight it often doesn't get removed till after it catches a ton of roost and is useless and torn off and some number plate to cover its spot. You can get a cheap hong kong version and wait three weeks for it to come in the mail. 30 bucks or you can search for a klx version since that also works as well.

Kdx's are great bikes, I got an 03 kdx220r that's mostly stock other than a full FMF exhaust.
