Here is the question:
Garage sales and yard sales generally means moving junk from their location to your location if you are the buyer.
Most of us have at least bought something at some point in our lives at one of these sales.
What is the biggest bargain item you got compared to its real value? Or most unusual item you found at a garage/yard sale?
Here is my quick story:
ABout 20 years ago while picked up a car in Michigan I came upon a detour on a Saturday that sent me through a neighborhood. I spotted a garage sale that had a kitchen sink on the lawn for sale. Which struck me funny.
I stopped and spotted a box of books. One of the books I spotted was actually written by my Dad. The price was a mere 25 cents. I go up to pay for it and explain to the lady that I know the author personally.
She initially doesn't believe me until I show her my PA drivers license which shows my middle name as the same as my Dads. I then tell her I can get him on my cell phone and she can talk to him. I get my Dad on the phone and tell him I can buy one of his books for a mere 25 cents
and I put the lady on the phone.
Proves to be a small world afterall. My Dad wrote over 50 books tow of which hit 1/2 million in sales back in the 1970s and 1980s.
So, what is your garage sale/yard sale story?
