Some states call 40MPH over the limit reckless driving (criminal traffic offense) and your pal with the badge can throw your ass in jail if they want to, and drag your vehicle, at your expense, to a tow yard. Other states call that 40MPH over negligent driving, a criminal offense with a mandatory court appearance and of course, more serious than speeding. Regardless, he dropped your (admitted) speed violation down by 10MPH, so he did you a favor, you should be happy. Zip it, grow up, pay your ticket and learn. Next time, either try going some semblance of the speed limit or use profiling if you want to go a bit over the limit.
*I'm sure that if you contact the court they will set up a payment plan just for you. Merry Christmas.

Re: speed trap!!!!!!!!!
After reading this thread all I can say is, IdahoRanger, you need to get a life and get over it. What good is still being butt hurt over the cop being a douche doing for you? You need a girlfriend or some porn to occupy your time with instead of messing with a cop because you're still butt hurt.

I was driving down this one road with a 65mph speed limit and I'll admit I was going a good bit over the speed limit. Well I'd never been there before and all of a sudden it was a 25 zone. The cop got me and we had a good laugh he said I was his record in that trap. I ate it and got a 239 dollar fine and learned my lesson if I was you I'd do the same

This ^ is aggravating. Haha. Sort of happened to me last summer. State trooper pulled me over for doin 68 in a 65 (I was even in the right lane haha) and she let me off with a warning for the speed, but gave me a $120 fine for wearing my seatbelt under my arm. -_- I spose technically that's not wearing it properly, but it seems to be borderline nit-picking to write a ticket for it.
