I got one of the 99% finished aluminum intercooler pipes back from my mechanics welder buddy...looks good if I say so myself!

It's got the bypass valve mount & the support rod all TIG welded in place as well.

I like it much better than the stock Procharger setup & we will be able to eliminate a fair amount of the couplings as well.

The second side (intercooler outlet to throttle-body) is tacked together for us to verify a few things (angles, lengths etc) this week - and then it will get finished TIG welded as well.

The slot-style MAF housing is fully welded in already.

We will be test fitting everything again tomorrow evening as the second side is comprised of non-standard angles & might be tough to get it installed as one overall piece anyway.

It ended up the throttle-body piece that Procharger supplied was actually cast Aluminum so he was able to join that oval shaped piece directly onto the next section of piping without any transition or anything - should be very smooth.

We are hoping to have all these items in the hands of the powdercoater right after the long Holiday weekend for him to do his thing at that point.

Few quick & dirty pictures of the pipes:

That would have been fun to use an orbital on. Looks good.

Yeah - he did a great job.

We were able to test fit the aluminum piping last night for the Procharger to intercooler side & everything fit great. It's going to be really tight with the big bypass valve mounted - but it is what it is.

We then were able to get registration marks on the more complicated side so the piping can be tacked together here soon.

On that side (intercooler outlet to throttle-body) we will have to redo the slot-style MAF mount (ended up clocked in a crappy position) - so it will take a bit longer. Sucks, but best in the long run.

It should get tack welded today & hopefully we can do a final test fit here soon before having that piece fully TIG welded.

Only if you take out a crowd of people, but that's a given with a mustang burnout

True.

However, the sophisticated Mustang owners prefer to maintain traction when plowing into a crowd of innocents.

A burnout is simply advanced warning that might actually lower the potential for bystander carnage.

Piping looks good. When it is all done, it will be one badass Mach 1.

All that piping is the reason I went with a twin screw blower over a centrifugal one. I like simplicity lol.

Haha - thanks!

I'm ready to be done with the boxes. However once things come back from the powdercoater..I expect a bit of 'recharge' since we are getting closer.

I hear you there....the 8-rib pulley conversion & thicker radiator really made things tight up front.

The Mach is currently working purely as a dust collection system - so I think I'm in the clear.
