Re: Build Thread - Logan's 2003 Mach 1
Well, this morning I went ahead and purchased the SCT LiveWire TS setup from Don over at LaSota Racing.
I went with the one custom tune & sent him all my vehicle information.
Should be a fun little toy while getting a bit more out of the stock program. Plus getting a bit more out of the basic 'bolt-on' modifications I've done.
Product Info: LaSota Racing - Livewire TS w/ One Custom Tune: $599.00

I'm leaning toward the same set up, how's the guage output on this will it monitor a/f / egt and or boost if you add the right sensors?

I like the custom SCT tuning options vs. the canned or generic tunes the Superchips come with. Maybe they have a custom tuning option as well - but I'm not familiar with them.
Plus, when it comes time for the car to hit the dyno - the SCT Advantage III software is what my place uses so I sort of have a comfort level with their side.

I believe the gauges that are shown on the LiveWire are basically just pulling the stock PCM data stream and displaying the results (similar to the UltraGauge deal). It also has some other "toys" that it can do as well (0-60 MPH, ¼ Mile ET and Braking ET all in one test or individually).
It does have the ability to connect to external analog inputs (so can the X3 & X4) - but when I was setting up my Ranger - Don LaSota actually told me he cant really recommend using them this way.
He basically said the sampling rate of the tuner is just too slow compared to a dedicated gauge or datalogger when it comes to those "critical" monitoring points. That's why I went with the Zeitronix datalogger setup on the Ranger.
Long story short - he recommend to let the tuner - "tune" & the external sensors - "sense".
Maybe the data rate has gotten better with these newer units (they weren't out back when I setup the Ranger)...but I still sort of like the thought of having a dedicated monitoring setup for those external values.

Mustangs do not like or work well with canned tunes. SCT is the best tuner for them with Diablosport Predator as the other good option. Custom tunes are a must with these picky cars.

Re: Build Thread - Logan's 2003 Mach 1
Yea your right they just have the flashpaq and cortex tuners, but I think the cortex allows some custom work to be done with tune. But can't go wrong with SCT!

Re: Build Thread - Logan's 2003 Mach 1
Remember to re-calibrate your speedo with the SCT so its correct for the 18" wheels that are on it now.

Yep - LaSota got all that info & I'll double check it all once I load the tune.
Same path I went down with the Ranger & 35's - but had gearing & a million other things tossed in there as well.
I think I've purchased 5-6 different SCT packages from Don over the years. Starting back when my little baby Ranger was essentially stock - all the way to the supercharged setup on 35's I finished with.
I also purchased the Pro Racer Package awhile back which I'll get it transferred over to the Mach 1 - once the need comes!

Honestly - not really. I mean we had a good run together, and she's my baby - but the time was right.
I didn't really use it much - and I took it pretty damn far on the upgrade path!
