My Plans for the next few months
Well i really need to get a new DD because my truck is just costing me too much. I am getting a summer job at the high school over the same and i am going to save all that money. I really want a Lincoln LS. I just love the way they look and feel. I am buying the v8 and with the money from the summer job. Around 4,000, I am gunna make a down payment on the Lincoln. I turn 18 in September. So that is my plan. I am only gunna get an older one for around 5-7k This is really just to buildup my credit while i'm young. What do you guys think?

Re: My Plans for the next few months
The truck is costing you too much so you're going to spend 5k atleast on a new car? I don't get it.

Re: My Plans for the next few months
It will save me money in the long run. My truck eats gas, I understand a v8 will but not if you don't beat the shit out of it. My truck has 158k miles on it. Who know hows much longer it will last

Re: My Plans for the next few months
For spending 5 grand on a car, you could do a lot to your truck to make it stop nickel and diming you. Plus the economy right now, you better have a co signer or you probably aren't getting a loan. A v8 will still eat gas too, just as bad as your Ranger I bet. If you want to get better mileage you are going to have to think smaller my friend lol. But hey you have a plan, and the LS is a sick little beast, I don't think you would regret it. And for the record, I have owned vehicles with just as many miles as yours and had great luck with them, just can't torture them like you can a 4 year old truck with 30k on the Odo

Re: My Plans for the next few months
Hey thanks for the advice. The LS is not only to save on gas i have just always wanted one and a co signer is no problem. I could put the 5k into a new engine for my truck but if i just drive it less it will last a lot longer.

Then what's the point? lol you'll still have to maintain it lol Not to poop on your idea just saying. What does the LS get for mileage anyway?

Re: My Plans for the next few months
I see the logic... my friend bought a storm 'cause it was cheap and got better mpg than the truck... I don't see the point in the v8 (since your priority is MPG) except just to say you have it... good luck though!! I wish I could afford my focus :-(

Re: My Plans for the next few months
Thanks Marie. What focus do you want? Well my main worry isn't really MPG it's just the reliability factor. If i have two cars (no matter what they are) They are going to last longer because you aren't just driving one all the time, They get driven evenly. That's my theory lol. I also have a lot of plans for it. It's getting murdered out haha

Re: My Plans for the next few months
I get about 9mpg city and highway really no difference. I have tried selling my truck with no luck. It has a salvage title. Maybe i can buy a wrecked LS?

You have a valid point, so does Marie, the other thing to consider is what is it going to cost you in insurance.

I'm thinking the 2006 ZX4 ST in DSG (or clear-coat metallic I guess is the correct name) or maybe a 2002 ZTS
