It seems to have rained a little overnight and it's pretty cool out atm. We'll see what happens as the day goes on.

Well, to be 'slightly' more specific, I'm a Master Electrician (licensed in numerous states) and also a co-owner of a midsize commercial/industrial electrical contracting company (approx. 30-40 employees) that routinely completes electrical contracts in the seven figure range (water treatment plants, pump stations etc.), with a yearly company sales volume in the 8-10 million range. AKA - I just sit in an office now, and pretend I know everything - lol.
But really, it's more that I just love to modify & upgrade my truck - and no vehicle I ever own will be left stock!
...and it doesn't hurt that I'm single. haha

As far as schooling/training - There is an apprentice training program that our company requires you attend as a condition of employment. It's a four year deal - once a week for like 4 hours. You would do this while you earn your standard work hours towards your Journeyman license exam.
If a new guy makes it 6-8 months - he usually will stick it out. Those are the tough years. You make the least & you have to pay for all the tools, clothing, and schooling. Sort of a dedication test. haha
After that and 8,000 work hours you can decide take your Journeyman's exam...then some (like me) go for their Masters license after you prove another 2,000 hours in planning and layout.
Then Contractors license...and on and on. Required continuing education & all that good stuff. Pile on numerous states & I'm always taking a test and/or continuing education classes to maintain them.

And the truth comes out!
