Good luck finding a ss in good shape at that price, unless you meant the ss sticker option, which is a base model cobalt with an ugly wing.

1- SS are not automatically supercharged.
2- Only the old models have a superchager, in which case, make sure you inspect the car with a microscope, you never know how badly it was driven.
3- Superchargers have been replaced a while ago with much more efficient turbos.
4- You never said it could be 4-5 years old, you only mentionned 12k, which is the price of a brand new non-turbo ss, why so serious?

There are a lot of dodge magnum R/Ts around here for 12k, one or two SRT-8s for 15k or under. I drove one before (R/T) and they can move for a big car. I was looking into it since I was thinking about getting a car, and they have a ass ton of storage with the back seat folded down. They are pretty versatile if you ask me. But I don't think you want to go that route. :P

My buddy has a supercharged SS and its not all that fast. The first time I rode in it I wasn't all that impressed. When I had my SRT-4 I would spank him all day. He had a smaller pulley pushing around 17-19 psi, injectors and tune to go with the pulley, full exhaust, intake and upgraded motor mounts. All I had was intake, motor mount inserts and AGP waste gate pushing 19psi tapering down to 17psi by red line. If your going to get a SS get a newer one with the turbo.

The turbos are a good bit faster than the supercharged SS. They also did some lil tweaks to the car too like "no lift shift".

Well, here they are overpriced because they are so rare, but in the us, i'd try looking for a neon srt-4 before i'd consider anything else 4cyls.

The srt-4 stock can kick a lot of exotic's ass on a racetrack, it's uber fast.

As far as cobalts go, if you have access to company rebates on parts, and have a garage at home, i'd go for the cobalt turbo over the supercharger, mainly because the superc takes away power before it gives it. Also the turbo can be adjusted a lil higher without having to worry about the engine.
