Prepper question #2
As before, private poll. Ethical, religious, moral and personal value considerations are on the table.
*Your answer assumes the neighbor has NOT been taken in by you.

Re: Prepper question #2
I put no. I assumed that if there was something of value that I needed to survive, he had not left it behind. And I see no value in the scotched earth doctrine in this case.

Re: Prepper question #2
If he wasn't coming back and I felt he had essentials. No I wouldn't torch it but I would scour for anything of use

Re: Prepper question #2
Kinda curious as to why people would not torch it if the neighbor vacated. And by vacated, I mean, he's gone and it's clear and obvious he's not coming back. The idea is not to screw him over.
Me, I'd gut it of anything that could better my cause or be bartered off down the road (plan on competition for the stuff), drag any remaining cars over to my place (parts for building stuff), maybe strip the house of some timbers that could be used for building something and/or as extra firewood, then I'd torch the sucker. Why burn it? Simple, I would not want squaters moving in and I wouldn't want scrounges checking it out, all happening too close to my place and both potentially serious threats.

Re: Prepper question #2
Since most are liberal tards on my steeet I doubt they have anything of value to survive.
Now if the redneck just to my northeast dies I'm going there and getting his bronco ii and his guns.
I wouldn't torch it as it would be a distraction to people coming around. I'd have more time to react as they are going house to house. I live at the end of a coldisac.
If u torch all theirs and yours is the only one standing your gonna be screwed.

Re: Prepper question #2
^^^I'm curious, why wouldn't you want the benefit of hostile marauders having fewer hiding places close to your home and wouldn't you want nice, clean,, unobstructed shots should they start to try to take you out? Bear in mind, your ammo supply is a limited resource. Just thinking out loud here.
*Libtards, got one next door. He'd be the first one kicking on my door wanting something and the first to vacate. 30" of snow here in 30 hours drove that guy to his knees, totally unprepared, crying how he couldn't drive his Mercedes to the store to buy milk.

The way the road is setup you could easily see anyone coming in to the neighborhood. Gun fire and not knowing where it is coming from would I think scare them off.
you walk up to a neighborhood with 12 houses and all are burnt down to the foundation except 1 which would you be interested in?
By the way have you ever seen the show "The Colony" on discovery?
they had 2 seasons of it. Was centered around end of the world and there were about 10 people put together to survive.
I know season 1 was on netflix I dunno about season 2

I did see the Colony, both seasons. I'm bummed they didn't have an S03; I'm bewildered that DC now has this naked and afraid series (lame). Come on DC, even cavemen were ingenious enough to cover up. Regardless, IMO if you want to get a real good glimpse into what people do when SHTF, and it's not reality TV, check out how people behaved right after Katrina. Katrina was the first natural disaster, the way the locals reacted virtually immediately was the second disaster, however, it was an unnatural human response so early on. Wild animals on day two, no altruism. Go to drug stores, steal the drugs, get high, go to gun stores, steal guns + ammo, go shoot at National Guard when they come to help. What "great people" in that town.

Never heard of it, cliff notes please. NG has some good stuff, I like that channel and I used to buy and read the mag religiously.

Re: Prepper question #2
Doing what I gotta do so I can watch it in the living room, in comfort, sitting on a couch lifting weights.
On edit: Do you watch Doomsday preppers? E05 in S03 recently aired.

Re: Prepper question #2
Being as I'm a hoarder in Fallout, I can't deny that I'd raid it.
2 more horses...that'd be 5 horse power!
I'd feel like I was driving a chevy then.
