Check your oil

Although this is not about a ranger, I'd like to share this little story with you all anyways.

So yesterday evening around 5:30, my sister was on her way out to head back to school for the week. (she drives my Cherokee)

She starts it up, puts it in reverse to go ahead and back out of the driveway and I hear some of the worst noises going on underneath the hood.

I stop her, tell her to pop the hood and what do ya know, she's 2 quarts low on oil. Luckily I planned on an oil change anyways soon, so I had everything sitting in the driveway. Put in fresh oil and a filter and away she went about 30 minutes later without any problems.

Sometimes I think the engine could be on fire and she wouldn't even notice it.

Moral of the story. CHECK YOUR DAMN OIL.

haha, yeah people need to be more aware of these things. i pop the hood atleast once a week or every other week atleast. hence why i noticed my rad leaking today

my buddys girlfriend is hell on cars. she just ran her little hyundai with a broken belt till the battery died. it also busted the new radiator from overheating. she just ignored the little light on the dash thats shaped like a battery.....

so if people are too lazy to look at the idiot lights on the dash, why would they actually get out and check the oil?

when i was working for a mechanic during high school, a guy filled his engine with oil.

he literally kept adding oil until it was FULL up to the fill cap...

my soon to be X sister in law ran her mini van for over a year...with out checking the oil, with a broken dip stick..... when it started making noise she stopped at a quick lube...it had 1/2 quart in the engine

i saw a guy ruin an audi a4 it was some racing package to put an entire 10 quart jug of royal purple(he said) in it and drove from tennesse till it broke down in front of our shop in georgia toasted the motor blew so many seals it would burn 5 quarts after running thirty mins and always drove around in a cloud of smoke he didn't notice till some old lady flagged him down and said the car was on fire lol
