Okay I got a fix it ticket for no offroad light covers and I am under the assumption that I can just pay a transaction fee to the court with proof of correction but then I got a bail amount in the mail later on for $174. Do I have to pay that? I'm stressing and the courts aren't open until Monday :\

i got proof of correction from the local PD but I want to know why I got a bail amount when it's a ticket elligable for dismissal and the payment of the transaction fee

Letter should have explained what you have to do. I assuming you're appearance date hasn't come and gone? If it has and you didn't appear or show proof of correction to the court (either mailed in per instructions on back of the citation or went to traffic court with the correction) then that is the amount of the citation and probably your traffic warrant. Standard operating procedure... If your appearance date is still in the future then take the proof of correction and transaction fee to the traffic court and they will clear it. This can usually be done at the front counter without seeing a judge.

the light cover law applies to any fog/driving/off road lights mounted over 42" on a vehicle. the reason for it is so *******s can't blind other vehicles by using them on the road, either unintentionally or intentionally.
as for the fix it ticket, I bet it's just a "show a cop they are covered," he signs it, you return it to the proper service center and thats it. The $194 is the fine if you DO NOT get the cop to sign within a week.

within a week? I wasn't even present for the ticket and there's no where on it that says such limitations, i got the ticket 3/14/10.. do you think it matter? It says i have until 5/20 to pay it

Um Idk about where you are, In Washington you have 15 days from the time of the ticket to fix it or they send you the ticket. Sounds like you passed the time to fix it and got the ticket
