If you do go Harbor Freight go get a 20% off on one item coupon from some hot rod/musclecar or motorcycle magazine to save on some big ticket item like that. They put them in all the time. You might also find the impact gun you want for about half the price in a coupon if they're running a special.

Sounds like the HF one will do you just fine. For occasional work in my driveway I grab a 1/2" Dewalt electric from my work. Good enough for stuff like spring compressors, wheels, or torx bed bolts and i dont need a compressor.

I'd agree with the others, when working around the engine, a good torque wrench and breaker bar comes first. And if you're into more production and are slinging the gun around all day then the IR is a great choice. Theres a big diff in how it feels and hits.
