Default What do you guys think about FluidFilm?

I ordered a free sample of fluid film from their website, (great costumer service and fast shipping by the way) and I'm going to test it out on a piece of metal and see how it holds up when I throw some road salt and stuff at it and see if it does what is claimed. Supposedly, it doesn't dry out, more so "cures" to a wax. And that wax "layer" keeps the metal from rusting, and it isn't supposed to come off. The only way to get it off is if you pressure wash it off at an amount (grater than 2,000 psi, I believe) has anyone else used this product? I'll keep you guys updated.

I've noticed POR-15 doesn't work correctly unless done 100% right. For instance, when I did my frame, some of the "bubbly" rust I didn't remove, and it's starting to peek trough, but I the rust I did remove it's nice and black still. I was going to use this ontop of POR-15 do none of the damn salt will even get to my frame.

I did. Looks exactly like POR-15. Even has the same cleaning steps and "technical information".

I'm not saying the POR-15 didn't work, it worked well, I just didn't remove enough of the flakey shit on some parts of my truck. For instance I didn't get this one piece off, and when it did come off, the POR-15 was still bonded to the rust itself. But the metal flake came off. I reprinted that pert and it hasn't rusted since. I was just saying, that fluid film could also add to the "ultimate protection"

Fluid film is awesome, I use it on my snowblower and mower deck.

Yes, I spray it down into my doors and inside bottom edge of my tailgate to prevent rust.

Does it work pretty good? I'm already starting to like the stuff when I get new rear door latches I'm going to spray them down with some.

So far it has. I used to use WD-40 but the fluid film lasts much longer.

I can already tell. I sprayed a couple of "seams" around the bottom of the rocker panels along with some rust starting on the bottom edges of my doors. Once that stuff hits it it looks like it's being sucked to the metal. I'll see how it goes. So far I really like it. Sprayed some on my tailgate latches and made it much smoother.

I use it on my guns. Works very well when out in wet weather.
