Cleanses the social parasites; the degenerates. Gets rid of the sub humans who can't control themselves. Saves prisons money and space. They pay the price for the crime they committed.

There SHOULD be a plan set up for sick people who need donors to get linked with a criminal, and when they need an organ, they kill an inmate, and give up the organ. That would be great! Saves the people who do something, and gets rid of the people who do nothing!

There is moar. These are just off the top of my head

PS Don't you hate stupid papers? I HATED writing papers...i'm lucky i'm an engineer...we never have papers to write, lol!

those are excellent points grant. never thought of it like that. the only thing i have to say about part of that is that some states (my stupid state especially) hold prisoners on death row till theyre damn near dead as it is.

i think there should be an express lane no more getting convicted and sitting on the row for 30yrs. i say convict and eliminate within 5yrs itd save even more money.

Only problem with that is some people would not want a organ from a serial killer for personal reasons.

Plus how many of those prisoners killed would have good working organs that were not destroyed by drugs, alcohol or something else.

I agree though they need to save states money by getting rid of them. Look at how many states are currently in financial trouble. Go on a 24hr spree of deleting prisoners that have sat there for 30-40 years that is a economical stimulus right there.

Actually it costs much more. I know in Florida, if we sentenced people to life in prison instead of death row, we would save $51 million per year.
I think if your sentenced to death, you get taken out back and hanged.
Average time spent on death row is >21 years.

Do it old pirate style. When they would catch a pirate, they would hang them outside the port so all ships coming in would see them as an example.

If it was used properly, it would serve as a deterrent.

Societies have been using the death penalty as a cost saver for thousands of years, basically doing what some of the other posters above me have mentioned. It's not the death penalty that costs more, it's the process of appeals and filibustering that escalates the costs.

IMHO, there are only really three pro-death penalty arguments:
1) It's cheaper (when done right)
2) Justice for the victim(s)
3) A deterrent
