I agree though they need to save states money by getting rid of them. Look at how many states are currently in financial trouble. Go on a 24hr spree of deleting prisoners that have sat there for 30-40 years that is a economical stimulus right there.

IMHO, there are only really three pro-death penalty arguments:
1) It's cheaper (when done right)
2) Justice for the victim(s)
3) A deterrent
Yup, average cost of execution is about one percent (not a factual number) of the cost of putting a person to death for a crime. Then we allow a death row inmate to appeal until you get to the supreme court, maybe what we need to do is set up a court that specifically deals with appeals on death row. You get one appeal, where all the evidence is gone over again, by an outside source that has no sway towards the prosecution or the defendant. Just examines the facts, and makes an analysis based upon the facts. But I totally agree with Tom on this one.

Also it definately saves space in jails. What is the purpose of keeping someone locked up in jail "for life" and costing us the tax payers money? I think it's wrong and I pay taxes.

In nearly 100% of cases, patients never know who gives them their organs. So it wouldn't matter if they got it from a person on death row ( and not necessarily a serial killer as you are putting the worst case scenario to give an extreme biased opinion).

Plus there are lots of parts we can take from a person even if they have abused drugs (which doesn't always happen...again you putting these extreme cases to give biased in your argument....you're shits weak, son!)

Ok well what happens if they used lethal injection to kill the inmate? That is poison, that you would now be putting in another person. I don't know what the electric chair would do to organs, and I don't know of more that 2 or 3 states still hang people. And you can't use a firing squad on people, that would just destroy the body entirely.

Ahg, don't get me started. I'm all for corporal punishment. I just with the death penalty was enforced efficiently. I agree with one appeal and then MAX 1 year till their death. And screw the electric chair, or lethal injection. Just give them 16oz of used antifreeze.

I own guns, and I believe in the death penalty. Lol I am just more well informed then most. lol ok I lean democrat but I don't vote strictly democrat. I vote for who I think can do the best job for all of us.

Oh and the reason I thought this out is we had a debate about it in my speech class last semester lol

Here's a thought:
Think of the thousands of ppl every month that pay hard earned money to watch a wrestling pay per view at 40-50 bucks a pop. Take few prisoners every month and have an American Idol type vote on how they should die. Pay per view the executions and in turn give 90% of the money to education, while using the other 10% to fund the executions. It's a win win for the children and the victim's families.

Every execution since something like 2005 has been by lethal injection. It seems to me that it would be kind of hard to use a liver that's got a lethal amount of potassium chloride in it, the chemical used to stop the heart.

I'm just assuming here, but to use an organ, the person probably would have to be hung. Even in an electrocution, the tissue probably would not be any good after having 8 billion volts or watts or amps (i know squat about electricity) blasted through it.

One alternative would be to have an organ removal procedure added to the entire execution procedure. The inmate would be allowed to speak his last words, then put to sleep, have his organs harvested, then extinguished by prison personnel.

This process might also alleviate anti-death penalty concerns that the inmate can still feel the pain, as if they were conscious, but paralyzed and unable to communicate that they are suffering...kind of like anesthesia failure, where a patient is completely aware of and can feel their surgery taking place, but is paralyzed so they can't say or do anything about it. The problem with lethal injection is how in the F do you test it? You can't inject someone with all this stuff then wake them up and say, "did you feel that?" But if someone were under professional anesthesia, if they suffered from ane-failure, it would be no more inhumane than someone going through a normal procedure...except they're being given the ol' William Wallace treatment, which, again I'm assuming here, is pretty painful.

The problem is medical doctors are forbidden from using the chemicals used in the lethal injection process. I'm not sure about whether or not doctors are allowed, under the Hippocratic Oath, to open someone up, then pass the procedure off to an unlicensed medical professional, which are the guys who actually do the lethal injection...prison personnel. That would take a little more research than I'm interested in tonight.

Speed up the process and we can start saving lives by ending them. Where there's a will, there's a way.
I'm all for it. As was stated before, donations are best kept anonymous and confidential.

Good luck with the paper. I wrote hundreds of them on my way to that worthless piece of paper hanging on my wall.
