I used to make pretty good money cutting firewood when I lived in trees, I could use it to haul smaller logs up to the road, or go scout for trees to cut (on the road mind you Tread Lightly Member)
My Bruin has pulled an entire tree cut up. I had a 250 Big Bear 4wd that moved an old fallen oak (it was huge) just by throwing a loggin' chain on it and yanking it out of my driveway ('99 ice storm in the south).

If I remember right, that Big Bear was 4wd manual shift. But it was all 4wd, all the time, with a shifter for high and low. It was pretty peppy too in high, and a mf'n beast in low. Harder to steer at high speeds. The Bruin is push-button 4wd.

I've personally owned 4 Yamahas: an old Moto-4 100, a Moto-4 250, the Big Bear, and now the Bruin. All have been top-notch. I don't know for sure, but from what I've heard, I'd steer clear of Arctic Cat and Polaris. IMO, Yamaha is like the Ford of ATVs.

I want selectable 4wd, I'll easily give up the manual tranny for the selectable 4wd. I love Yams, good rigs. I'm talking small tree at a foot in diameter, I used to log and had trees that were easy 3 foot plus in diameter, I want something that can haul something like that if I can get it lol

my grandfather swears by honda. he's owned 2. the first was a 1986 4trax that one of my cousins still rides. his new one is a rancher he got about 10 years ago that still looks, rides, and runs brand new. his brother still rides the first honda he bought 20 years ago...and old 4trax. about the only thing he's had to replace is the seat cover from riding it so much on the farm.

i can't say anything bad about hondas.

the only people i've known to have problems with any 4wheeler, like any kind of vehicle, are those who don't take care of them, or get something that's not practical for what they want to use it for.

My buddy has an old 4Trax that he and I use around his farm back home lol That thing is a tank. I'm not a Honda fan but that's more personal choice then anything. They buid a great product and for the right price, I'd break down and get one.

And I have to agree, unless you are buying a POS off brand four wheeler, if you do the maintenance, and take care of the bike, as well as have something that is made for what you are doing with it, that thing will last you a long time. There are a ton of old four wheelers running around up here in Montana because the farmers take damn good care of their four wheelers. And they have a LOT of miles and hours on them.
