Probably not. See my No-Heat Troubleshooting guide. Follow the 4cyl section and see where it leads you. Most likely though, it will lead you to the water pump being shot.

When you have the HVAC control in OFF or MAX AC, the heater core is bypassed by that 4-port valve. That's why the flow chart has you check the temperature with the heater on and off. If the hoses get hot and the temp gauge goes up to normal with the HVAC in the OFF setting, then yes it is a clogged heater core. But if the condition does not change with the HVAC in the OFF position, the it has nothing to do with the heater core.

Heat is on, I unplug the hoses of the core and not a single drop of coolant came out, then I put the air compressor hose and blew it at 70 psi a lot of shit came out i clean the hoses and plug it back and the heat is wonderful. I drove like 12 miles on the highway at 65mph the heat is good but the temp gauge barely went up. Is it a concern? Again thank you for your advise although I do it differently, everything is appreciated

What happens when you set the HVAC to off? Also, how hot is the heat? If you have a way to check the temp of the hoses, that would be great.

So I drove it for 10 miles with the HVAC off and then another 7 mi with a/c on the temp goes up a little over the second line, weather temp here is 60 degrees so I think it is ok now, right?

The needle should be centered in the middle. Is it?
