one thing I have found in planning a meet is the sooner the better. You would think that if you gave people a few weeks/months to plan it, many would show up, but actually it gives them time to cancel.

When we had out beach meet. i told everyone I was oging to be camping on the OBX regardless if anyone showed up or not. Needless to say, about 8 trucks showed up and 12 people. ANd that was mostly within a week notice. So its best to fins somehting you can do by yourself and tell people where you will be and they can come if they want.

Also for meets its better to find stuff to do like camping or whatever instead of finding a big parking lot to meet in.
