Two important questions... Do you have the limited slip rear, or do you have an open rear? Do you have any recovery points in the front and the rear? If you do not have any recovery points, I would say not to try - especially if it will be light sand or muddy. If you have an open rear, your chances of getting stuck are increased a bit more... which is where the recovery points come into play.

im down to go...youll be fine with 2wd i did it in mine all the time without tow points, when i got stuck i just attached a strap right to the frame

Attaching to the frame is ok... essentially it's the same as attaching to a hook or a hitch. The thing is that the tow rope could get caught on weird angles when getting pulled out causing dented/scratched rocker panels or bumpers. If you want to take that chance, that's fine, just know what you're getting into before you get really stuck.
