Default looking for MECHANIC in NYC or nearby area....



just bought this '07 ranger LEvel II...

need to get a few things checked out...
-60mph steering wheel and stick shift vibration
-front tires possible too worn in middle
-fan/ac only works on high (blower resister? DIY project?)


alongside getting an overall thorough and well-done checkup, since I just bought the vehicle...

if you know of anyone, please help! thanks!

oh...and I need a new stereo system asap...speakers at the very least..

Tires look pretty worn.. Worn tires will vibrate. Ac could be the resistor. You should be able to fix that yourself. Get some tires if they are worn as well as an alignment check. As far as stereo how far are you wanting to go. Some aftermarket infinity speakers and a pioneer headunit and it will sound good.

Steering wheel vibration could also be a wheel balance issue.

I agree with the above. Also, the stock headunits are trash and the weakspot in the system.

Get a new head unit, your speakers will sound way better then.

As for vibrations, the steering wheel may be the tires, but the shifter vibrating around is normal, mine starts dancing a lot at 30 - 40.

Thanks for the replies....

Im going to try and get a thorough checkup asap...but the tires definitely need to be changed....and wheel balance and alignment prob def need to be checked

I will look into the headunit replacement.. I think I want to go all out with the sound system...I want to keep the stock old school radio I think but I want a nice amp and speakers to match.... want to put a dmall subwoofer someqhere in the back cab area...will browse forum to brainstorm

Eastwell Automotive in the Bronx is great - honest mechanics, I have been taking my vehicles to them for a while now.
