Default System recovery

I was wondering we have done a system recovery on the computer. Can I just click the old system file and delete it with no harm to the computer. I moved all the important files to the new folder.

I'm not sure I understand the situation. You performed a system recover and now there are two system folders? Inside the system folders there are hundreds of system files (files ending in .sys) so I'm a bit confused by your question.

does the old system file say like windows.old
personally i wouldn't touch anything that ended in .sys, but when i upgraded to 7, all the files from my xp were kept and stored in a file called windows.old-it had all the system files in it too. i deleted it with no problems but since yours is a system recovery they may still be important

When we do the system revovery it backs them up. So then u go through the back up and get all ur music pictures out of the folder then it has duplicate applications in there also

after an hour of thought i came up with this lol, if the files dont take up much space it would probably be best to leave them on there, if they take up significant storage space you can google the exact name of one of the files and see what it does, and delete one that can be fixed easily but you will be able to tell if something is messed up maybe.?.? its hard to say this stuff for certain, sometimes files look like nothing and turn out to be your whole boot up program (great way to lose a pc btw)
