When I get the money I'm going to get an iPhone 4S on Virgin Mobile, $35 a month for 300 voice minutes and unlimited everything else. The only problem is the phone costs $450 lol.

Honestly there are androids for cheaper with better specs and even 4g lte if that is important to you. I have the HTC evo v rooted and over clocked to 1.8ghz and I compared the benchmarks to my buddies galaxy s3 and my phone kicked his phones azz which isn't bad for as cheap as it was
And as far as coverage my phone works everywhere my parents lte at&t phones do, pretty much anywhere a sprint phone works virgin mobile will work

To be honest I don't want android. It looks like a good OS and there are totally kickass phones out there that run it, but Android is Google and I don't like Google, I see them as a bad company. Bad as in tracking everything you do on your phone, reading texts, finding your location, etc. I realize Apple could do this as well, but I would feel safer with Apple having my info than Google. I'm kind of a conspiracy follower.
It's not completely for this reason though. I like using iOS and of course everything is in iTunes and it syncs and I've got hundreds of apps and whatnot. I also like the simple aesthetics of the iPhone.
So there's that, iPhone for me, though in the future I may try a Windows Phone for a bit just to see how it is. Sorry for sounding crazy lol.

That's cool though, I gotta give apple a thumbs up for simplicity and compatibility but I like the ability to customize android and tweak things, plus if you wait the iPhone 5 might make its way to VM which would be nice with a cheap plan /thread lol sorry op

Lol it's cool dude. If I didn't think the way I do I'd have an android something by now as well, but I do like Apple stuff. I've got this iPhone, the second gen Touch that it replaced, a third gen Nano, a black 5th gen Video (30gb) and a white of the same, and I used to have a chromed second gen nano, then a mishap occurred and now it's only a shell. 'Twas quite the conversation piece.

Got mine refurbished from Apple a few years ago (didn't buy it, got it after a $34 one on eBay had a factory defect, went to apple and they gave me a new one), never used it outside of the case. It's probably my most prized possession. It's in pristine condition.

Anyway, phones. I was on Net10 for a couple of years during the time that they were getting better phones and Trac still had nasty ancients. It was alright, good reception on my LG 900g, if you have a problem go to the forums because they are helpful there.

That was my phone, haven't used it since January. I'd say its one of the better dumbphones, but a dumbphone nonetheless, thus the reason I just stopped using it. Now if I need a phone I just take my mom's Trac since she barely uses it, this iPhone is for everything else (it's like an iPod touch, had a bad ESN so Verizon can't activate it).

Re: No-Contract Cell Phone Plans
I'm with Verizon and I do like my 25% service discount, but......if I ever have good reason to leave them it's going to be for Page Plus Cellular. Check them out, if you can abide by their simple terms than it's tough to beat them. Plans start at $12/mo, includes a splash of data.

Re: No-Contract Cell Phone Plans
I got my mom a at&t go phone with the $2 per day with unlimited talk & text (she doesn't know how to text, but she can talk up a storm) and it's worked out great for her.
I'm looking to break away from at&t and my monthly plan right now. I don't have any data or a cool internet gizmo to use but I'd like to change that.
They have a $25month plan with 250 min, unlimited text but you have to pay $5 for 50mb per month.
Monthly plans suck because of the extra $25min data plan.
Just saw Virgin Mobile has a $35 month plan (no contract) with 300min & unlimited everything else. Looks like they start throttling you after 2.5gb but who uses 2.5gb of data a month on their phone?
Wouldn't you be able to use google voice to make/receive calls and never use any of the 300 minutes?
What I've read indicates VM runs on the Sprint network, so it should have pretty good coverage.

Re: No-Contract Cell Phone Plans
i am on boost mobile ( sprint towers) so far love it. 55 dollars with unlimited talk text and web. I bought a samsung galaxy s3 and activated it right there at best buy. the good thing about boost is they offer shrinking payments. so for every six months that you pay on time, your bill shrinks 5 bucks. it ultimately goes down to 30 bucks. which is insaine for sprint service where i am at.
