That maybe possibly could have been how I obtained PS7, which I currently use.
But I thought the newer versions were harder to stea.... borrow for "evaluation purposes". I thought everything from CS2 and up had to be registered online. Could be wrong, though.
Actually, I'm happy with 7. It does everything I need and then some.

I hated photoshop when i first umm.. aquired it.
Then i slowly started to use it and learn what did what. I still suck at it, and i cant do probably a tenth of what the program is really capable of, but i get by and i can use it well enough to satisfy anything that ive tried so far.
Color changes, lowering/lifting, layering new wheels, accessories, deleting objects from pics, and a bunch of other things are pretty easy to learn.
Layering, airbrush eraser, polygonal lasso tool and learning color balance/contrasts will get you through most of whatever a mild hobbiest will encounter.

Probably when he copied it over he copied all the files but forgot to copy the setup which unzips all the files and puts them into a folder. So if you have the icon on your destop and you click on it, you're probably missing a file that links the program.
That's my guess.

i have the zip program, but i dont understand how to use it after i unzipped it... so it sort of useless to me... i can do a lot of thing - especially video wise but when it comes to photos all i can do is just snap and upload - and thats it for me.... so i'm just going to delete it off since nobody wants it... its taking up space on my hd on my laptop and i need to reformat that anyways.... i rarely use that thing - its about 2 years old, and its basically "junk" - i need to to toss it to the trash man one of these days... (takes up space in my office room at the house)....

Sounds like you just need to locate where the files are being unzipped to and there should be a set-up file there.

100% exactly my thoughts. I literally had photoshop installed on my computer for years without really touching it because it was just so overwhelming and complicated. Now, I can just do some very basic modifications which is enough to satisfy my needs.
