I'm a geezin-set-in-my-ways 44-year old, so I tend to stick w/ older music. I do like variety:
Rush
Southern Rock: Outlaws, Hatchet, most Skynyrd, Blackfoot
Classical music: Rachmaninoff, Haydn
cheesy 1970's pop: remember K-tel albums?
REAL country music (not the bubblegum Nashville-factory stuff): Willie, Merle, Buck, Roy, Hank jr
60's music: Byrds, Hollies
Early heavy metal: Priest, Motorhead
hard rock: Zep, Deep Purple, AC/DC
80's rock: INXS
mello rock: Eagles, Jackson Browne
blues: Stevie Ray Vaughan, RIP., Eva Cassidy, RIP
ecclectic: Jesse Winchester, Danny Gatton, RIP (if you've never heard of him, look him up, he was phenomenal guitar player)
all 2300+ songs on my iPod. Wonder how many 8-tracks that would be?

Hank III FTW! Ive been stuck on his version of "Atlantic City" for the last few weeks. Its been stuck in my head like mad.
Right now though I just dumped most of Suicidal Tendencies "Prime Cuts" on my Zune. "You Can't Bring Me Down" is awesome angry driving music. Plus im kinda pissed their $5 show with Pennywise and Danzig next week already sold out.

Wow, I saw them back in '85 here in Knoxville. Great show, and the place went wild when they played Institutionalized.
