Default Anyone know about home theater?

Alright guys so im about a month away from moving into my townhouse up at college and need a good home theater sound system! Just wondering if anyone had knowledge about a nice one for under idk 500? Thanks!

If you can, get one that has wireless rear speakers.

i have this one from walmart. its a 5.1 system and it sounds pretty good it cost me $160 believe it or not i use it with my ps3 and i have hooked up the hdmi to it.

i am just going to say i'm very pleased with it, i mounted the speakers on my wall in my bedroom and its only 12X12.

Stay away from any crap that is sold in 1 box.
shop on craigslist. I picked up a decent Denon receiver and CD changer for 50$.
Look for a set of bose or similar computer speakers. Small with good full range sound, probably a seperate sub box too.
Make sure that the wires ar NOT attached. Wires make a big difference in overal sound quality, but it is an area you can start cheap and work your way up, same with interconnects.
