Picked up the extended battery for my droid x, fixed any and all issues regarding battery life. with moderate to heavy use during the day (texting like a mofo, using it as my ipod and streaming pandora as well as phonecalls + app use) my battery life was at 48% by 6 pm today.. It came off the charger at 4 am this morning.

thats not too bad at all. the problem i have with mine is that my shop kills phone reception (not sure why but no ones phones get good service inside) so my phone goes in and out of service all day and that kills my battery. ill take it off the charger at 4 AM and by noon im down to 50% battery with the phone just sitting there.

thats odd, perhaps its something with the construction of the building or the geography. luckily i dont have that problem in my shop.

We have the same issue in our maintenance van. Basically a 54' trailer that we converted to an office outside our shop. My phone has no issues with searching for service, but some of the guys do, part of it is how often your apps sinc to the internet, part is loss of service for killing the battery. We all have Verizon but the bossman, he has Sprint, and theirs seems to be the worst here in the trailer

yeah it is weird. as soon as i step outside i get full service, step back inside and it goes between no bars and one bar. If the big door is open the service is better. kinda sucks.

This. I was slow stepping into the smart phone game because I figured I was around a computer enough most the time that I didn't need internet on a phone. I'm so very happy I eventually pulled the trigger. I use my phone for so much stuff now, I don't know how I could ever go back to a regular phone. It's one of those things where you just don't know what you have until you try something else.

I had one...went caveman on the damn thing...went back to the regular phone. I found I dont need to have a phone with internet service being that I usually have a computer next to me. Plus the added 30.00 a month for the data package blows!

Lol Clinton, that sucks. But I am not always by a computer, since obviously I travel everywhere! Otherwise what I have has been working just fine. The other thing is my Dad wanted to check them out, he wants me to make the leap first lol

Got some bad news on Dad the other day, so if it gives me and him a reason to BS some more I'll take it.

DO IT!!! Smart phones are the bomb. I have had one for three years now and love it. The two that I have had hold up good to the dirt, and abuse that I have put them through. The only reason that my Palm Pre died was 'cause I threw it into a concrete wall. After putting it back together the only thing that had trouble was part of the touch screen where it had cracked. Else I would still be using it. Now have an Android phone.

I voted the rugged one. I got a Motorola Quantico which is there rugged mil-spec flip phone, and thing thing is a beast. I'm not 100% sold on smartphones, but if i had the option of the rugged, i'd probably get one once this comp dies. If you end up with the non rugged, Otterbox and Griffin make amazing cases that seal up stuff pretty good.

I got the phone I wanted. Just waiting for it to ship here now. Thanks for the help guys. Also, I figured this would be a good thread for anyone else looking to get one.
