Default here's a computer question for you.

i keep getting booted out of Internet explorer for my browser. when i'm on my laptop using windows vista. i usually have frf open and a website called radio time to listen to tunes.. then i open links that are posted on here or over on rps and i get booted clear off and my wallpaper is present. a friend of mine said i should use google chrome or FireFox.

my problem is my computer skills seem like some of your repair post on here. i will admit i know jack shit when it comes to computers except the bare basics. can someone tell me something to try so i can tell Internet explorer to kiss my ass or fix whatever is wrong?

firefox is much better in my opinion.. go to www.mozilla.org and download it
(should be a big button saying download) pretty simple... i do know that internet explorer dont like big chache sites.. i had frf crash with internet explorere but never ever had any problems out of firefox..

The new IE was a straight up copy of FF. The problem you are having is common in Vista, well the lesser versions that is. I have Ultimate Black, and my girl has Home. Her's keeps kicking off ie. fails to connect and more. It is being addressed but you best bet for the time being is FF. Allthough IE is still running in the back ground and can still connecting issues.

+27 on Firefox. Using that (if it works properly for you) will also isolate the problem to IE.

Firefox Portable is worth downloading, too. It doesn't actually install anwhere, it just runs, so you can take it (and your settings and bookmarks) between different computers.

Get a copy of Windows 7 when it hits the market and if you don't feel comfortable doing your own loading of it, have some one do it for you.
Then run nothing but Firefox. Regrettably you will have to keep IE in the back ground so Microsoft can keep their fingers in your computer.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, SET EITHER OR ANY FOR THAT MATTER, AS DEFAULT. By not setting any as default, they will all work equally well, they all have their own little glitches, just Firefox is open source and has a lot less problems. You can also tweak FF with out creating problems and it will also help how it reacts.
