Default How to Combine Two Lists and Add Values?

I'm hoping someone can help me with this, I figure excel could do what I want but everything I search comes up with just merging two lists into one list without modifying any values.

What I have is something like:

List1:
A
B
C
D

List2:
1
2
3
4

What I want:
A1
A2
A3
A4
B1
B2
B3
B4
C1
& so forth

Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks in advance.

More complicated than you need, but you should be able to use the same technique.

Thank you sir. I've used this technique as a short term solution, however the lists I'm working on are living documents and thus are constantly changing. Once there's a modification I need to redo the entire process, thus I'm looking for a simpler way.

I appreciate the reply though.

Oh, duh - I didn't examine your example carefully enough.

Ok, I think I've got what you need. These two pages gave me what I needed:

http://www.cpearson.com/excel/ArrayFormulas.aspx

http://www.cpearson.com/excel/MatrixToVector.aspx

I emailed you a sample Excel spreadsheet with your sample data and the result you wanted. Hope it helps.

Thank you sir, that looks like that will be perfect.

I'll need to play around with it to see how it scales up, but with those links I think I'll be able to figure it out.

Thanks again!

Is this a financial thing, Tom? I have a template a friend made for me...
