I've had to do that machine and may do it again. Ill go back to 2.1 if I do. I have 2.3 right now and.it has made my phone not so great. At first I loved it. But now my phone freezes up a lot and I hate the way my browser doesn't bring up.blank text boxes for entering text like on a forum.

Ffparker, u can go on an android forum like phandroid.com or android central and an earlier version and use "Odin" which is a flash program and use it to flash new software

http://androidforums.com/ <<--I like this one best

http://forums.androidcentral.com/

usually you will find the software you need in your phone models forum.

here is the ODIN program

Well guys, its been nice knowing you but Ive grown tired of the constant force closes, pictures not loading, crappy forced updates, glitches and daily frustrations with my Droid so I hate to say it but Ive jumped ship. My black 16 Gig Iphone 4S is on order and will be here this week. Although I will miss certain things about the Android, I will not miss having to restart it every time I want to make a phone call, not receiving phone calls and texts, having it freeze when I try to take a picture and the poor battery life. I hope my Iphone treats me better than my Android, we will see!

Later gators!

Battery life on iphones that people have at work is horrible. One guy has to leave his plugged in all day.

I have had issues with my Droid Global 2. I have found that turning it off, removing the battery and holding down the power button for 15 seconds. Has cured a lot of the issues with it. Like not being able to hear people when they call. freezing. and all the other good stuff.

Android is fail. The OS is such a security risk. All of the malware created for smartphones is for the android OS, almost none, if not none at all for the iOS.

The battery life on iphones is fine if you take care of them properly. It's no wonder he has to leave his plugged in all day - he has probably short-charged it or plugged it in to charge when it isn't completely dead since he got it. Iphones have great battery life. Just like any other rechargable battery, if you don't take care of it it will lose stamina.

One thing that will kill your battery life is animated screen savers and games that run in the background.

There is another guy who bought one. Brought it in the next day left it in his truck from 4:30am went out to his truck at 7:00am and it was dead. He didn't have any thing on it as it was brand new.

I know that no phones are perfect and battery life and smart phones don't really go hand in hand. Its been a love hate relationship with my droid and I'm ready for something new. The iphone doesn't do everything a droid can do but I'm willing to trade that for a smoother OS and less problems.

I dont think that Android is a fail at all, I just think the phone manufacturers need to de-bug alot more before they release a phone. It seems like they pump them out every month or so where as apple takes a year or more to come out with a new phone. I like the way the Android OS works and I think in some ways its better than the Apple OS but its got some bugs that need working out.

So i n other words, android is fail because they do not test their product. the equivalent of an extacy dealer selling meth pills because he hasn't tested his product.
