I assumed they were decent, since I saw a commercial once featuring an NFL player.

I still wouldn't have bought one, though. For TV's, Sony/Sharp/Samsung is the way to go.

I have two Samsung's both 42" and DVD player. The one is almost 4 years old and no problems. I bought the second one last year with the DVD. Now the DVD is shot. Keeps pausing and starting on its own. The TV has two sets of pixels that are flashing red, real annoying and both just out of warranty. No help from Samsung or Best Buy on either. Best Buy only asked if I had bought the extended warranty on the TV. I said "no" and they said I should have and I would have been covered. I asked him to prove it and he couldn't. Exted warranty would only cover 10 or more pixels in a square inch, mine they are 3-5 in the center and upper right. Like watching police cars with their lights on in the middle of movies. Samsung never again...

Some people will have problems with one piece of equipment and swear that the company is garbage and their products suck. The truth is, nothing in electronics is perfect, and any TV can have problems.

We bought a 42" vizio and on black or really dark parts there would be Red Pixels so we called them up and said return it, it was out of warranty so we returned it no questions asked to Costco. We now have a 47" Vizio have had it 8 months now and still working just fine.

I understand, and like I said, I wouldn't buy one either.

I was thinking about Littleblue's comment when I made my comment. He said he'd never buy a Samsung again, which is fine, but there are plenty of people who love their Samsung TV's.

I have had 3 Sony LCD TV's, and never had a single problem with any of them. But there are some people who hate Sony and won't buy their TV's.

Just saying that even the best companies can have their share of problems. And although I have no hands on experience with Vizio, I wouldn't buy one simply because it's a Vizio. I'd rather spend my hard earned cash for a TV from a company that has been in the game for a long time.
