Default Forza 3 Tuning Calculators..

Does anyone use a calculator to get their base tune for Forza 3? If so, which one do you use? I've found a few, even one for the Android phone but I was wondering if anyone found one that accounts for horsepower instead of just the drive and weight.

What sort of "calculator"? Something of a matrix for working out spring rates etc based on weight and hp?

I just do it the hard way…max the upgrades (to the desired class anyway) and test drive the hell out of it.

I hadn't ever thought to look for a guide on it.

I have't played forza 3 yet but on 2 and 1 I always look for tires and weight reductions and then horsepower thirdly, but I do tune a lot of my cars for certain circumstances. If i see the car has so much torque I burnout my tires within take off then i change the gearing and adjust throttle feel, I find that helps alot. but it seems harder to tune highpower FW cars vs RW, it seems whether a FW has 300 HP or 700 HP they perform th same. I love my tail happy RW cars

I do the same thing as Joe. Put in the upgrades i need, test drive, do a little tuning, test drive again, tune again..... Trial and error may take a little longer, but it's a lot funner!

One thing i have found out helps a little. Keep cars near their stock class. If it's a C class car, don't make it an S. I would only stay in C class or maybe B at the most.

Also, reading the little tip thing to the left of the tuning stuff helps out, it pretty much guides you on what ya need to do.

On a side note, i like my cars just about as tight as possible. when i hit the gas at the apex (or a little before) i want a little bit of the ass end to come around but not very much. If it feels like it doesn't want to go around the corner, it's all set for me. Though i do like a looser car for certain things.

when i build a car first thing I do is clutch and driveshaft. and then the transmission.. then i do a weight reduction and then tune the gears to the track im racing in and then race.. but if it requires HP increases then i do that too and then regear the car again and tune. I have found that that works really well for me.. but i can't get a RWD car to not spin off the line yet

yeah i have the 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR and even with the forza wing i can't keep it from doing a burnout.. it might be because it has like 900HP.. but still it goes really fast after i get off the line.. but i have a subaru Impreza that is kindof slow getting off the line sometimes.. it doesn't peel out at all but that car is my rally car for the tight tracks

The tuning calculators aren't the solve all, they give you a nice baseline tune to which you can then trial and error to your driving style. Personally, if I can't hear the tires squealing and feel like I'm going out of control around a corner, I don't like it. Lol

well i just got a tuner on my phone and it works for me.. on RWD cars it makes the back end break loose a little around corners and gives it a nice smooth ride on pavement seems to help me out alot.. and basically it takes the tire width, weight of car, drivetrain type, distribution of weight in percent, and downforce front and back. input all that and it comes out with a basic tune for the car.. it doesnt take into account for HP or torque or gear ratios but so far so good. haven't had a problem yet. but on another note what assists do you keep on? cause i use manual transmission(including clutch), no suggested line, no auto braking, with ABS,TCS,stability control, and hard difficulty. it gets pretty hard sometimes when you get up into the R1 events
