I was on youtube looking up Jason Aldean's "My Kinda Party" song seein as he's my favorite artist. Welll, as I was looking i kept seeing the name "Brantley Gilbert" pop up as well. He had a few songs that were the same as Jason's "Best of Me" and "My Kinda Party". Well after some digging, i found out these two songs were originally this Brantley fella's songs. Apperently Jason is a fan of Brantley and got permission to cover two of his songs on the upcoming album being released in November by Aldean.

Well after listening to some of Gilbert's songs, i must say I honestly DONT know why he is not on mainstream stations. His songs are badass and I can see why Aldean wants to cover them.

With that being said, I think Aldean is the better singer on all the songs that he covers as his voice is not as powerful as Aldean's, but he is a great singer. Just listen for youself:

I would have never heard of him had I not been on youtube. Im a huge fan of Aldean, going to nearest concert I can go to soon! I was supposed to go one early this year bur a bad snow prevented that and i wasnt going to drive through 4 major cities in that mess

ill argue with it with ya too i guess...lol. I freaking love Brantley's music and he has become one of my favorite country artists right under Aldean who happens to be my most favorite. I know all the Georgia boys argue with me over it but IMO, Aldean has the stronger better singing voice and can rock "My Kinda Party" and "The Best of Me" better. Don't get me wrong, Brantley CAN sing and his "Kick It In the Sticks is playing right now in my truck if you turn it on. But his vocals don't match Aldean's. Brantley is a GREAT GREAT songwriter that many of us southern boys can relate too and it shows in his songs. It is however hard to compare them even so as they are both great!

With all that being said, i absolutely cannot wait until Nov 5!

Yeah, ole Brantley is cool fella to hang out with. I go to his house there in Athens when the band is in town. BTW if any of you fellas are in the Atlanta area let me know, I bounce and hold a VIP list Wild Bills, where both these artists play a lot. My name there is Punk Ass Mike.

I like em both, but I gotta say I like Brantley a little bit more. He has more of that good ol boy sound. I tend to prefer underground stuff though, so maybe that's why.

I must say after seeing Brantley in concert and keeping his two albums in my truck since I posted this thread, he has surpassed Aldean as my favorite country artist! I have probably listened to his songs soooo many times between on my phone, ipod, itunes, and truck that i know all them by heart. I love em both as artists and love both versions buit have grown to like Brantley's more, especially after hearing him live. Brantley just released a statement today that could not be more true.

I will say that I have a little more respect knowing that he did not sell his songs. And also if you listen to the original Dirt Road Anthem, Jason's cut sounds like complete crap.
