STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}

Hey guys, i hope any of you can help me out with this.

I ran Windows XP, not sure what edition. It has SP2 cuz my boss is a prick and doesn't want any of us updating the computers. Mine is used as database for everybody in the office (me and 5 other people). I run AntiMalware Bytes every week and the PC is scanned looking for virus every day during lunch time. I have CCleaner as well. It's the only PC without any major repair in two years (only thing I changed was the power source).

Since I leave at 6pm, I'm not the person who shuts it off. So today when I got to work, I saw this error:

STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon Process system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0x00000000 (0x00000000 0x00000000).
The system has been shut down.

I asked the guy who shut it off and said the only thing he did was start--shut off. He turned the monitor off and. PC stood with that screen for more than 10 hrs.

I wonder if any of you guys had this problem or if you guys know how to solve the problem.

I got some days-off, so i will be working on the computer until monday, but any suggestion is more than welcome.

If i'm missing any info that could be helpful, let me know and I'll post it.

I had cc cleaner delete a file for sound in my windows so i had to do a whole fix with the windows disk

If i restore the system to the last known good configuration, would that be any help?

Well, tech guy said he's gonna repair the windows... he tried to fix it, he spent more than an hour 'working on it' but no good at all... guess I won't have a computer for a couple of days...

copy and paste that error code into google to find the exact problem. could be a memory error or a hard drive error

probably the easiest way is to reinstal the operating system because its a memory block error

I can't run the memory test because I don't have the Win CD... and eventhough I have some computer knowledge, I don't want to mess with this computer since it is the one used as database... I'm not sure if there's a program besides the Microsoft one to run a memory test... do you or anyone knows one?

before doing anything, run a backup and backup all of your data so you dont loose anything, then just search for a free memory test on google or bing.

First thing I did was a backup. Man, we have like 150 gbs of information.. it took me a couple of days to transfer that amount of info.. lol

I've googled that, and I've been reading about the error. I asked the tech guy if he was gonna run those tests but never got a straight answer.. he just kept repeating "i'll stick to repair the windows"...

He doesn't really know what he's doing, and since he's a friend of the boss, we don't have anyone else to go to... lol

haha that sucks...if they will let you i would just reinstall the OS and restore the data from the backup

Lol he did a scan disk and supposedly that would fix it... lol... I spent two hours in front of the computer doing nothing... two hours of my life wasted... He's taking it to his shop tomorrow and hopefully I'm getting it back on Friday... If I don't... it's gonna suck big time

Usually when you get a blue screen, repairing (or patching) will take more time then... oh wait, his way it already took WAY more time than mine.

If you have that much important data, it's not lost, its only your OS that's affected, just install a small drive in the box, install a fresh OS. Once the new OS is up and running, use the original drive as slave and delete the old OS folders manually, and keep your data on there.

IT are tools (lol sorry if anyone here works as IT).
