Default iron duke question

i think this is the best place to post this. i run demolition derby (cars only). a friend gave me an iron duke engine (4 cylinder) today. i havent picked it up yet cuz im not sure it will do what i want it to. has anyone ever messed with one of these engines? if i get it i would be putting it in a 1977 buick full sized car. (big ass car). do you think that it will have enough power to run a demo derby in the mud?

i have always run v8ts in cars and keeping them from getting hot is something that i always fight. i have heard that an iron duke doesnt get as hot as a v8. is this true?

ps the engine is missing the lifters. will small block chevy ones work? and i will be willing to buy some that will work (would rather not mess with shipping). pm me if you wanna make a deal

any info will be appreciated
