Re: Tranfer Android Files to New Android
What kind of files?
For contacts, I export all to the sim/sd card
For everything on my phone that can be seen by a computer I save it in a temporary file on my computer and drop it onto my new phone.
As for apps, I log into google and have them all redownload (does notnsave your info unless it was on the "cloud" or whatever they call it)

Tranfer Android Files to New Android (new issue)
Well I am back at it again,Got a new phone awhile back, a ZTE Quartz Android. After I bought it, I had it all set-up to my liking. Then it started cycling or turning itself off and on. I was informed by my carrier Tracfone the only way to fix it was to set it back to factory settings, which we did.So it took me another half a day getting it back to the way I like it,with apps, sounds, email, contacts bla bla bla. Well it is back to cycling again and I am on here hoping someone has a fix for the cycling, which I have Googled, until I have blisters on my typing finger or I have to reset it again. Two questions.
Is there anyone who has had the issue (cycling) and found a fix?
Secondly is there a user friendly way, like thumb drive, sdhc card, file, way to save all my contacts, apps, sounds settings to my Win 7 PC, or to the card in my phone? Sorry for the long post but about ready to shoot my phone. TIA!

Re: Tranfer Android Files to New Android
NFC is a very convenient way to directly transfer data from one phone to another. No cards, cables, clouds, etc etc. Once upon a time, phones sometimes could be paired to one another and share data in the same manner (directly). Give it a shot!

Take each phone, turn NFC on, put them back to back and away you go, direct file transfer.

I am not in the market for a new phone at the moment, if I can get the phone I have now to stop driving me insane. I'll check my manual and see if it has a NFC setting.

Re: Tranfer Android Files to New Android
Ya know, if you have a Car Toys store in your area you can get into a SGS7 for $100 or a SGS6 for $.01 (new phone either way) with a two year contract. And service is getting cheaper, they are giving people more of it, and employer/retiree discounts keep getting better and better. For example, Verizon give me a 25% employee discount and if I were willing to accept ATT they would do the same. Something to maybe look into.

Bill I appreciate your help, but. For the wife and my life styles,Tracfone works great. I have been with Tracfone for 18 years,my wife about 12 years.I have mega minutes, data, texts because I rarely use my phone, except for emergencies, or a little more in the Summer for lawn mower buyers and sellers, plus we have a home phone. I never have issues with our TF, except when I'm forced to call customer service, which is once every 5 years.Lastly it costs us $18 a month and we are both retired and have many more needs, than our phones. Again, know you mean well and Thanks.

Re: Tranfer Android Files to New Android
phone cycling sounds like a hardware issue with the phone itself. only way to fix it is a new phone. take it in for warranty.
contacts, and apps you had on your old phone should automatically go into your new phone when you sign into it with google account.
as for pictures, music, etc. you will have to transfer those via the USB cable from your old phone onto your computer, then transfer again onto the new phone from the computer. thats the easiest way to do it.

Does your answer apply even though factory reset fixes it? Last time I had the problem, I Goggled it and the reset cured it for 6 months.I'm just too lazy, to go through the hassle of the reset. I was looking at phones today, as much as I save with Tracfone, I can afford to buy a new phone every 6 months.
Thanks for your help
