Default WiFi extender ???

Hey techies, I need some advice on a way to extend the range of a WiFi signal several hundred (maybe 1,000) feet.

Basically I need to get from one house across their property to another house.
Ideally we would dig a trench & run a couple runs of cable but that would be way too much work right now.

The land is pretty flat, just some trees in between the houses.

I haven't had to deal with extending the signal before so I'm not 100% sure what we should be looking at.
Thought about a wifi extender box with high gain antennas, but not sure if that would have enough bandwidth to handle real time video/audio.

Ideas? thoughts? advice?
Thanks!

You could run a ethernet cable from the current hook up with a modem/router at the end where you want the new wifi area.

I thought about that but it's well over the length of a couple football fields with trees & roads between :-(

I'm thinking there might be some big outdoor antenna we could use on both ends that might work, but I'm not sure what will work the best.

hmmm let me think.

I did some research and I think a long range wifi antenna is something you might want to look into.

my co-worker bought a wifi extender on amazon for like $30 so he could have internet in his garage. roughly 100 feet on his heavily wooded mountain property and he says it works flawlessly.

for a 1000 ft you would need an antenna.
basically its a repeater that sends the signal from one antenna to another. These can be costly though depending on how elaborate you will want to get.

Example how it works
