Default Can you install windows on a usb sd card?

I recently upgraded to a ssd as the primary drive in one pc & it made a huge improvement & got me thinking... why couldn't I get a 64gb sdhc card & a usb adapter, install windows xp on it & boot from the usb (doing this in another pc)... not sure how well the read/write speeds would be on the sd card but it couldn't be much slower than an old hard drive could it?

it can be done, I had it before when I used it to wipe hard drives that were infected, not the fastest way to do it iifc but it gets the job done, I don't know about adding software tho I kept it as basic as possible

----------

Just have to be able to get your flash drive formatted in ntfs

This. An SD card would basically be just like any other external drive (EG: USB drives).

The SD card would likely be faster than a spinning hard drive, but nowhere near the speeds of an SSD drive.
