You might be surprised how easy it is. I pop in a new CD when I happen to be at the computer, but I don't babysit it. I just click OK. Then I just carry on with whatever ELSE I'm doing (eg, net surfing, emails, etc.). Meanwhile the CD is being ripped on its own, and it beeps when it's done. So it happens in the background while you're ignoring it anyway. How is that hard work? In no time, you'll have digitized your entire CD collection, and can sell off those plastic CDs.

Since your phone is an android why not try finding a free music downloader? That's what I use on my windows phone

For around fifty to just over a hundred bucks, you can get a mp3 player. You can get more music on that player than you could listen to in a month of non stop playing.
There's lots of places on the web, where free music can legally be found. So with a small one time price, you could go that way. If you lived close to me I'd loan you mine. After discovering Pandora, I don't waste my time on anything else, when it comes to music.
Whichever you decide, good luck!

Yes, that'll do. Any generic "CD-R" will do. They're dirt cheap, and sold everywhere, even Walmart, K-mart, CVS, Staples, most grocery stores, etc.

Can you plug in your phone's headphone output into the AUX-input of your truck radio?

For USB, you need to click a special button on your phone's screen to enable its USB output.

I thought about that, but the only input to the Pioneer is usb.I looked on eBay for a 3.5 mm plug to usb and only one listed, not sure if that would work.

----------

Can I get one of these and download Pandora to it?

Nope, 3.5mm is analog, but USB is digital. So you can't plug headphoe output into your USB input. But you should have other inputs too, besides USB.

This photo of the rear face of your Pioneer AVH X1500DVD radio shows an AUX input (black, round) at the bottom middle. Does it match yours? Plug your phone's headphone output into this AUX jack. Furthermore, the Red & White RCA inputs at the top right (above the yellow video inputs) are the L&R analog audio inputs for DVD, which you can also use.

If the head unit can recognize it as a music player through the USB then it might work

I have a Kenwood radio head, I plug my iPhone in to the USB port, and it recognizes it as a iPod. Wouldn't it just be as simple as getting in auxiliary cord?
