Default Best Tablet?

My company wants to buy a tablet which I will use on job sites. Mostly for reading PDFs and reading emails. What is the best tablet? I'm not a fan of windows latest software and I have no complaints with iOS. I'm not buying the device, however I would still be interested to know what will get my boss the most bang for his buck.

I use a dell venue 8 pro it's a full version of windows so you can run excel/word/pp or any other software. And it's a fraction of the cost of a surface pro. I got mine for $230

I like the wide ruled, yellow paper legal sized myself

I feel that the wide ruled and longer page makes it look like you have done more work, while the yellow paper makes it stand out...

Just my $0.02

You're going to need a pretty high horsepower tablet to utilize AutoCAD on them...

viewing PDF's yes - but AutoCAD - going to take some doing....

You clearly said to read AutoCAD drawings...which would imply utilizing the actual AutoCAD program to view them (meaning you still gotta have the horsepower to fire that program up).

If you are just looking to view PDF documents OF converted AutoCAD drawings - then whatever.

Someone is a little pissy.....

I'm looking for people's opinions on devices not an open debate about how I asked the question.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1. Works great for email and PDFs. I have only had it for about two months but I like it so far.

You need to relax some my friend (yes...I know you didn't ask for that opinion either)....In order to provide a worthy recommendation - one must know what you're doing with it. Hence my comments. I don't think its wise to just toss out model numbers without being able to compare how I use something vs. how you might - or what you value compared to what I value.

If all you are doing is basic software things like viewing PDF blueprints (yes... I saw you will be reading emails also) - then the vast majority of tablets would work fine.

I also recommend getting a full Windows based tablet since its for work purposes - will just make things easier.

I personally have the Microsoft Surface Pro 2 (with the detachable keyboard & travel mouse) - but sounds like it may be more horsepower than what you initially need. It's really more of a laptop 'replacement' though - 64-Bit Windows 8.1 machine w/ 512GB SSD, 8 GB RAM & the complete Office suite - but yes, you pay some serious $$$ for it.

I would also consider how much you will be typing - as I thought it got rather old in a hurry before I picked up my keyboard to use when typing emails or Word documents.

wow nice...I would have thought the memory requirements would stress it too much. Good to know.

EDIT: We talking the full version of AutoCAD?
