Okay I got my snow leopard disc. I put it in and nothing happens. I go to the OS X utility and erase the drive. Then click install osx and all the comes up is mavericks. Not the disc but in the utility it shows the disc there. Idont know what to do.

I did I can't install mavericks because I haven't bought it with my itunes account so I'm trying to restore and install snow leopard so ican use the computer

Okay thank you. What happened is I went to restore the computer and do a fresh install just to make sure there was nothing left on it. So I followed the YouTube videos and erased the hd and went to install os and it's telling me to install mavericks. But it tells me I didn't purchase mavericks with my itunes account. so I bought a snow leopard 10.6.3 disc from apple. Put it in and nothing happens. Nothing pops up. I'm not sure what to do. I wish when I clicked install OS X it will pull up the disc but it doesnt

And if I select the snow leopard disc to be used on start up and reset it gets stuck on the apple logo.

Ok, so that second part tells me you DID hold down the "D" key to try and boot off the disk?

I'm pretty sure I have bad news for you then....your computer is too new to run snow leopard.....

You SURE it came with snow leopard? Usually if the computer is too new for the, it will hang/crash on cd boot

Try one more time and just wait. You may not be giving it enough time.

This is all it's doing. It was working fine before I erased the hd. Now if I eject the cd and restart it it will go into the utilities thing.
