Re: Por15- FREE Shipping
I couldnt open it. How much is it? Todd from here hooked me up big time, 97.00 for a gallon of it and I used a half gallon for my whole truck! I recommend it so far, it doesnt hurt and if you have someone near you, split the cost and do both your trucks!

So since you only used half a gallon, what would you recommend I get in the spring when I get mine? Like size wise lol, and is the prep stuff recommended or would just a good cleaning with something work?

POR-15 I am sold on, just remember it is a base coat. you need to put something over it or it will not last from what I am told. An instructor at my University swears by it, and he's been in paint and body work for over 30 years. Get it while you can!

From my understanding, this is more of a primer...unless you buy the product that is the sealer, or you paint over it. Primer, any primer is meant to be a base coat - or first coat. So you have to paint over it, or seal it to make the product stay the way it is supposed to be. The UV light of the world otherwise destroys the POR and it stops doing it's job, then you have to reapply it

Alright, thanks, I understand now. I remember seeing about the sealer, but I think most people dont even use it.

Re: Por15- FREE Shipping
POR-15 is UV sensitive, it does not ruin the product, only causes the color to fade out. It seals the metal, cover with their "Tie-coat" primer then your primer and finish colors if in a UV application. I have POR-15 on 15 year old jobs that were not subjected to UV and they look like new. I was a POR-15 dealer for years and love the product but their dealer relationships were disappointing so I am still a customer and will be for life. Use "greased lightening" cleaner vs. "simple green" for surface preps.

I got the most I could for the price. I brushed it on thick and did alot more than just the frame to protect more. The way I see it, It doesnt hurt having extra, but hurts when you dont have enough!
