Quite honestly, I dont trust a damn thing that comes out of that area of the city. Out in CA or NV or AZ this would be a great deal. You could have a perfect base for an awesome prerunner. Out here in the Chicago area, these trucks are generally beat to shit and there is no market out here to do anything with them aside leave them from stock. If it were a 4wd, Id say different.

Not a bad price at all.. "IF" everything checks out on it. We already know one thing is misleading in the add.... It's not a short bed as stated.
Still a nice looking truck though for the year and price.

93 Ranger Splash. Standard cab. 3.0 v-6, 5spd.
Mods: New engine and trans. Cluster swap with tach. New headunit and speakers all around. 4x4 front valance. Led turn indicator mirrors. Crystal clear head lamps. Clear corners. 5" driving lights in Valance.
Mods to come: 'stang seats, explorer console, window tint, flowmaster cat back, some mild port work.

I could never pay that much for that. I recently sold a 98 with the same options minus power locks for $1600 and it had 75,000 miles on it(but it also had a few more dents)lol
