yeah unless you like to hear it beep and thats it lol. seen em go for around 200 on craigslist which is crazy

they go for more because of the 4 usb ports and card reader and play ps2 games. i would sell it on CL just to get the extra $$$.

yeah its just like the rrod but for ps3 ylod, its a sad day when that happens.

I had to fix my PS2 a few years back when it wouldn't read my games. I have the slightest idea what I did to fix it now, but to this day it's still going strong. I was amazed to see how easy it was to get apart. I'll take a look at the vid tomorrow and see if the PS3 is as easy to work with.

i forgot about this thread as you can see lol....i ended up fixing it myself. Took 2 hours but once i put it back together, it fired right up!

just isopropyl alcohol. It was pretty easy to do just time consuming. Just found out my disc drive isnt taking in discs, one of the gears is slipping. I don't even want to deal with it now its back on craigslist lol

I dont have a PS3 but thats a shame this problem is so well known. I have had numerous issues with a PS2 as well. I have my N.E.S. stored in the attic and I know that thing works like I charm lol. They just dont make stuff like they used to. Obviously i know there is more technology in the newer systems but you get what i am saying. If everyone knew the shelf life on a PS3 was 3+/- years I doubt we would be paying close to 400 or 500 dollars for one.
